Annual Progress Report of PEIRA for the Years 2021-23

  The Chairperson of the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) Dr. Sayeda Zia Batool has presented its Annual Progress Report for the years 2021-2023 to the Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training- Mr. Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani. Mandated under the Islamabad Capital Territory Private Educational Institutions (Registration and Regulation) Act 2013 of Parliament, PEIRA’s role covers determination, maintenance and improvement of educational standards in private sector.

 The thematic report covers the qualitative as well as quantitative measures taken by PEIRA and illustrates progress under its mandate. Salient features of the report cover Registration and Regulation of PEIs (Private Educational Institutions), Academic Collaborations for Continuous Professional Development- CPD, Grievance Redressal for Students, Parents and PEIs, Inclusivity & Equity, Community and Stakeholders’ Engagement, and Policy Reforms among other areas.

 The report has emphasized on the organization's comprehensive approach to managing various aspects of educational regulation, ensuring that PEIs adhere to the required standards. The report also informs the readers about PEIRA’s reforms in enhancing efficiency and transparency within the organization, notably in the registration process and policy development and addressing challenges such as teacher training inadequacies, space constraints, registration of academies, and specific educational needs for students with dyslexia. Despite these challenges, ICT-PEIRA has achieved considerable milestones, including the successful implementation of initiatives and reform measures that have substantially impacted the educational framework.

 PEIRA’s future plans stated in Annual Progress Report reflect its dedication to addressing challenges, strengthening regulatory capacity, and serving as a facilitator for a brighter educational landscape for all students and stakeholders.
